Making Adjustments

I read this earlier and thought, how often do we allow the cares of the day to steal our joy, or for that matter, God’s plan for our day? Sometimes we have to make adjustments, which may mean we have to say no to the things God has not chosen for us, but in doing so, we are freed to fulfill His purpose.

“The little cares which fretted me
I lost them yesterday,
Among the fields, above the sea,
Among the winds at play,
Among the lowing of the herds,
The rustling of the trees,
Among the singing of the birds,
The humming of the bees.
The foolish fear of what might happen,
I cast them all away
Among the clover-scented grass,
Among the husking of the corn,
Where drowsy poppies nod
Where ill thoughts die and good are born–
Out in the fields with God.
