About Ginny

I am a follower of Jesus Christ. I am a wife to Ed Hamlin and we are two becoming one. I am the daughter of a courageous woman who continues to battle breast cancer with the sword of the Spirit and a sense of humor. I am blessed to be the mother of two adult-children who stir thankfulness in my heart every day. I am the proud grandmother of: Emeline Sophia Munn, Adrian Robert Bunn, and Isla Elizabeth Munn. I also have three bonus adult-children (we’re a blended family) and five little ones to love on: Madison, Alekzander, Jayden, Kalob, and Jordan - the grandchildren. I enjoy a rainy day at home in front of a roaring fire in the fireplace with my handsome man snuggled up next to me as we share a luscious dessert and watch Hitchcock movies back-to-back. (Yes, that’s a run-on sentence. Hehe.) Hugs to my in-laws: the Ranieri’s (Joe and Lydia), who model marriage so lovingly. I believe Marriage Takes Three…God, husband and wife.

One Day At A Time

The video clip (below) is from a road trip my husband and I made in 2011. My hubby and I often reflect on our lives when we make road trips. I ran across this clip recently and it got me thinking…about change. It has been said that if you do something consistently for thirty days (one day at a time), it will become a habit. That is also true for breaking bad habits. Too often we give up on the changes we would like to see in our lives because they seem daunting. It has also been said that fear is nothing more than false evidence appearing real.

The road to victory is narrow, but we are not on the journey alone. God is with us; however, His ways are not our ways so learn to listen for His direction.

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

I was born-again twelve years ago today. Yes, on April Fool’s Day 2001. My plans for the day are as follows: Give thanks to the Lord for saving a wretch like me.

God bless

I Will Get Your Attention

I need to preface this post with a confession: I am a go-go-go person. Anyone who’s known me for short period of time knows I slow down just long enough to smell the roses… before deciding to pick them…and arrange them in a vase…take them to a friend… whose house I will offer to clean…while preparing dinner.  : )

“I will get your attention.” God spoke those words to my heart in 2009 and I will never forget them.

Better Together

No sooner met but they looked; no sooner looked but they loved; no sooner loved but they sighed; no sooner sighed but they asked one another the reason; no sooner knew the reason but they sought the remedy; and in these degrees have they made a pair of stairs to marriage…”  ~ William Shakespeare

God bless,

Is your Love Tank Full?

“Many Marriages Would Be Better If The Husband And The Wife Clearly Understood That They Are On The Same Side.” ~ Zig Ziglar (1926-), American Author, Salesperson & Motivational Speaker

How many times must a person say, “I’m not a mind reader?” before the proverbial light bulb goes on for the listener. If you are tired of stumbling around in the dark when it comes to expressing and receiving love from those who matter in your life, the Five Love Languages is the switch that will enable you to turn on the lights.

Take the test then share the results with those you love.
