The video clip (below) is from a road trip my husband and I made in 2011. My hubby and I often reflect on our lives when we make road trips. I ran across this clip recently and it got me thinking…about change. It has been said that if you do something consistently for thirty days (one day at a time), it will become a habit. That is also true for breaking bad habits. Too often we give up on the changes we would like to see in our lives because they seem daunting. It has also been said that fear is nothing more than false evidence appearing real.
The road to victory is narrow, but we are not on the journey alone. God is with us; however, His ways are not our ways so learn to listen for His direction.
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.
