Getting The Best Out Of Your Camera

I have had ample time to read during the last six months. I love to read but I would rather create stories with a camera, film and what ever might pique my curiosity or interest. I am always looking at people and sizing them up for a story. Oh back to what I was saying. I notice something about some successful photographers and people in different industries. They know who they are. The don”t behave like Mr or Mrs big shot, they are down to earth real people.  I have been looking at the challenge photographer faces and I have to say the the successful ones  have an air about them where the people they work with enjoy being in front of the lens just as the person behind it.  I have to admit there was a point in time that I worried about being able to produce a a great photograph. I was nervous and that kind of thing comes through, it shows up on the negative.

So what do you do? My advice is to be yourself. If you don”t know, then ask some of your friends to describe you, what kind of qualities do they see. Your fun, carefree, like to have a good time. You don’t get crazy, conservative,  stiff in certain situations, wild of the hook. If what you hear is balanced, I would say hold onto those qualities because they are you. If there are things about you that can make people uncomfortable then you need to work on them. The more fun and relaxed you are, the same will go for the people you photograph. The more romantic, the more romantic your client with be incline to a point to behave. Hey! I didn’t say get all lovie dovie  with them.  Romantic, set the mood where you are shooting, candles music, etc… Got it? Same thing goes for other moods, grunge, elegant…. but learn one thing, to love you, and what you do behind the camera. You will see the difference.
